Toyota gives back and joins as a founding partner in the exciting action of the inaugural edition of the Concacaf W Gold Cup

PLANO, Texas, March 13, 2024 — Thousands of soccer fans flocked to stadiums in Houston, Texas, Los Angeles and San Diego, California, to witness the first edition of Concacaf's international women's competition, the W Gold Cup. 2024. Toyota joined the action as the inaugural and official automotive partner of the competition. This action helps consolidate the company's ongoing commitment to inclusion in football and creating more opportunities for all fans of the sport.

Additionally, Toyota expanded its collaboration with Boys & Girls Clubs of America, presenting an $80,000 donation during halftime of the Finals. As a founding partner of the organization's workforce readiness programs, the funds will support the organization's ongoing work to empower young people to excel in school while leading healthy, productive lives.


Toyota celebrated the 2024 W Concacaf Gold Cup Final with youth, parents and team members from the Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego. Toyota extended its ongoing partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America with a donation and invited local Club members to attend the Finals held on Sunday, March 10 at Snapdragon Stadium.

“We are pleased to continue our partnership with Concacaf during the inaugural edition of the W Gold Cup, as we continue to participate in programs that bring soccer to life in communities across the U.S. This competition highlights the growing role of women in soccer , as a catalyst not only for the growth of this sport, but also for the development of the next generation of players,” commented Russ Koble, senior manager of sports sponsorships at Toyota. “Having young members of local Boys & Girls Clubs present to share in this momentous occasion was an important element of our partnership with Boys & Girls Clubs of America. This helps us ensure continued impactful experiences for everyone.”

Club members from the Houston, Los Angeles and San Diego areas had the opportunity to witness soccer action at some games. To culminate the exciting competition, a group of Club members and representatives from Boys & Girls Clubs of Greater San Diego attended the exciting Final at Snapdragon Stadium between Brazil and the United States.

Fan Zone and Trophy Exhibition

Those attending the W Gold Cup enjoyed various activities prior to the quarterfinal, semifinal and final matches of the competition in the Fan Zone, with the participation of the Toyota Fútbol (Soccer) Club. This interactive zone was created for soccer enthusiasts of all ages, featuring games, music and soccer-themed artwork from local artists. Fans also got an up-close look at the all-new 2024 Tacoma and the 2024 bz4x, Toyota's electric vehicle. Attendees had the opportunity to view and take photos with the official W Gold Cup trophy on display during the celebrations in the Fan Zone.

The W Concacaf Gold Cup is the region's premier women's national team competition and a key part of its women's football strategy launched in 2019 with the aim of prioritizing the growth of women's football at all levels.
